A strong safety culture does not happen by accident. It grows through continuous learning, shared responsibility, and a commitment to protecting one another in the workplace.
At our manufacturing site in Přelouč, Czech Republic, 220 production employees recently participated in annual environment, health and safety training designed to reinforce safe practices across daily operations.
Manufacturing environments present unique safety challenges. Employees work with complex machinery, perform manual tasks, and operate across multiple shifts while maintaining production schedules. In these environments, regular training plays an essential role in helping teams understand risks and apply safety requirements confidently in their daily work.
To make the training practical and effective, sessions were delivered directly on the shop floor and focused on real-world scenarios employees encounter every day. This format encouraged discussion, questions, and shared learning among team members.
The training was led by the local EHS team with support from Novanta University, our online learning system for employees, and reinforced the company’s commitment to continuous learning and workplace safety.
To ensure every participant could fully engage with the training, simultaneous translation was provided for Ukrainian colleagues, helping create a shared understanding of safety practices across the workforce.
Additional sessions will continue so that every employee completes the required training. We also conducted dedicated EHS training for managers to strengthen leadership accountability for safety and environmental responsibility.
This commitment reflects our values and the Novanta Way. By investing in training, collaboration and clear communication, we continue to build a workplace where safety is part of everyday operations, and every employee plays a role in protecting one another.
