Collaboration and innovation go hand-in-hand. Through our partnership with MassRobotics, we are shaping the future of healthcare technology by mentoring early-stage robotics startups that are developing global solutions.
For the past several years, we have been proud participants in the MassRobotics Healthcare Robotics Catalyst Program. This initiative connects established industry leaders with emerging start-ups in the healthcare robotics space. Now entering its fifth cohort, this program brings together innovators from across Massachusetts and beyond, accelerating breakthroughs in automation, diagnostics, and patient mobility.
Each year, a select group of early-stage healthcare robotics companies join a six-month mentorship program where our team, along with other industry partners, provides hands-on mentorship and technical insight. Our team works closely with these young founders to refine product designs, navigate commercialization challenges, and prepare for market entry.
Elliot Helms, our Advanced Solution Engineer, has been leading this initiative for the past three years, partnering with Eric Klein, Vice President of OEM Sales. Together, they guide start-ups with engineering and commercial insight. Elliot describes his involvement as inspiring. “It is easy to get locked into your day job and forget that there are so many other interesting things happening,” he said.
“For me, it’s motivating to talk with different people and see how creative and agile these small companies are. This program gives me energy and reminds me why this field is so exciting.”
Recent start-ups we supported have developed groundbreaking technologies such as:
- Autonomous delivery systems for hospitals
- Mobility devices to increase independence for individuals with physical disabilities
- Diagnostic tools helping physicians detect colorectal cancer more efficiently
These incredible innovations align with our mission to deliver powerful precision and performance.
Our relationship with MassRobotics goes beyond mentorship. By engaging with this innovative community, we connect with emerging technologies, collaborate with other leading organizations, and inspire the next generation of engineers and entrepreneurs. Through this partnership, we live out The Novanta Way by bringing together our global expertise, shared values, and passion to make a lasting impact.
This year, we are proud to continue to serve as mentors in the MassRobotics Healthcare Robotics Catalyst Program and look forward to participating in the Robotics Summit and Expo in Boston next spring. We are excited to continue to shape the next generation of ideas that will transform into global solutions through healthcare robotics.
