We are innovative thinkers with a heart. In the field of humanoid robotics, we have positioned ourselves ahead of the game in technical excellence, safety leadership, and a passion for good.
Our team has worked diligently to become one of the most technologically advanced players in this industry, and effort is paying off. Through company-wide collaboration, we’ve earned recognition that attracts partnerships from leading businesses.
We recently showcased our expertise at the Humanoid Robotics Summit in Berlin showcased our expertise. These summits combine trade show exhibits with technical sessions where industry leaders share insights. In both London and Berlin, we participated as sponsors, and our presentations drew attention to our actuator technology.
Technical Leadership
Our focus on actuators reflects our strategic emphasis on robotics and automation. As a company formed through multiple acquisitions, each of our businesses specializes in different motion control components. We don’t manufacture every part of the motion stack, so we concentrate on areas where we deliver the most value, particularly humanoid robotics, an emerging market with high performance demands and significant margins.
Success in this space requires collaboration with top-tier companies and delivering components that are optimized, compact, and competitively priced. We’ve identified two components critical for humanoid applications: drivers and force torque sensors. We presented these product lines in the context of actuators, explaining how subcomponents interact and highlighting our Volcano platform, designed specifically for humanoid manufacturers.
Our approach was pragmatic, avoiding lofty predictions and focusing instead on the technical realities engineers face when selecting components. Our goal was clear: position us as the company that understands and delivers state-of-the-art technology for humanoid robotics.
Safety: The Only Way Forward
Our commitment to technological leadership goes hand in hand with a focus on safety, a topic that is rapidly becoming one of the most critical conversations in robotics. The real challenge isn’t manufacturing thousands of humanoids; it’s deploying them in environments where safety is guaranteed. Companies won’t risk utilizing robots that could pose hazards by falling on or colliding with humans.
Humanoids are driven by AI, which is inherently non-deterministic. To succeed in healthcare or home applications, we must prove that humanoids are extremely safe. Today, there are no established certifications for humanoid safety (though efforts are underway). We are part of a global committee working to define safety standards and patent solutions tailored to our industry.
Our approach is unique: We’re developing safety at the component level, specifically within the actuators, the joints of the robot. Typically, humanoids have around 30 actuators operating autonomously. If one fails, the entire system can become hazardous. Most companies address this at the system level, but we believe safety must start at the joint. Our patented solutions are establishing building blocks to make cooperation between humans and robots possible.
This conversation is challenging because the solutions don’t yet exist. We’re steps ahead, proposing technology that will shape the industry’s future standards. Humanoid robotics demands elegance in design, optimal performance, and speed. By embedding safety into the motion stack, we’re positioning ourselves as the leader in delivering safe, state-of-the-art humanoid solutions.
Being Real: Technology with Purpose
Our commitment to technical innovation and safety is matched by our core value to Be Real. Humanoids are “embodied AI,” a powerful concept that signals a new era where AI-driven machines could transform entire industries. While this technology can dramatically increase productivity and resource availability, its rapid adoption could outpace society’s ability to adapt, potentially leading to widespread job displacement and social disruption. There’s a dual nature to innovation: It can be used for good or misused for harm.
Technology itself isn’t the threat; it’s how people choose to use it. When profit is valued over people, technology becomes destructive, but when people are prioritized, it can unlock unprecedented progress.
Our role is to deliver the best technology possible while engaging in honest conversations about its implications. Innovation must be paired with responsibility and being real means acknowledging both the opportunities and challenges ahead of us.
By positioning ourselves as technically advanced, safety conscious, and passionate for good, we attend these summits with a unique offering: mastery of our craft with a vision for a better future. We are innovators with a heart.
