This year, employees at our site in Stockport, UK, celebrated International Women’s Day with a series of events inspired by the global theme “Give to Gain.” 

The idea behind the campaign is simple: When individuals and organizations give their time, knowledge and support, they create new opportunities for others to succeed. 

Building Connections, Recognizing Inspiration 

The week began with a site-wide kick-off event where employees gathered to connect and celebrate the women who have influenced their lives and careers. 

Activities included a networking bingo challenge and a commitment wall where employees shared the actions they will take to support women’s advancement. 

The space also encouraged employees to recognize mentors, leaders and role models who helped shape their professional journeys. 

Supporting Confidence and Career Growth 

Throughout the week, employees participated in sessions designed to support career development and professional confidence. 

An external speaker hosted a workshop focused on confidence in the workplace, addressing topics such as imposter syndrome, navigating technical environments and practical strategies for building confidence. 

Later in the week, employees joined a mentoring and career development session. The workshop introduced a mentoring program and shared tools for career planning, CV development and interview preparation. 

Together, the sessions highlighted how mentorship, learning and open dialogue can help employees grow their careers. 

Partnering with Smart Works 

The celebration concluded with a community initiative supporting Smart Works, a UK charity that helps women re-enter the workforce by providing interview coaching, professional clothing and career guidance. 

Smart Works hosted a pop-up shop in Stockport, and our employees helped bring the space to life while supporting the charity’s mission. 

Strengthening our Culture 

International Women’s Day offers an opportunity to reflect on how collaboration and mentorship help build stronger workplaces. 

By investing in each other’s growth, our employees continue to demonstrate the values that guide our culture every day.
