Resolvers are typically used for motion feedback applications and are considered a traditional form of inductive position sensor \u2013 a group which also includes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.celeramotion.com\/inductive-sensors\/synchros\/\">synchros<\/a>, rotary transformers, <a href=\"https:\/\/novanta.com\/robotics-automation\/rvdt-rotary-variable-differential-transformer\/\">RVDT<\/a>s, <a href=\"https:\/\/novanta.com\/robotics-automation\/rotary-variable-inductive-transducers-rvits\/\">RVIT<\/a>s and <a href=\"https:\/\/novanta.com\/robotics-automation\/inductosyn-comparison\/\">Inductosyns\u2122<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Resolvers are typically selected for high reliability and safety-related applications within the aerospace, and petrochemical sectors. Zettlex inductive encoders use the same fundamental physics as resolvers and hence exhibit the same high levels of reliability, safety assurance, and robustness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-traditional-resolvers-vs-zettlex-technology\">Traditional Resolvers vs Zettlex Technology<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Whereas resolvers are constructed using wire-wound spools in a transformer arrangement, Zettlex encoders use an elegant, printed circuit board construction. Zettlex inductive encoders typically offer higher levels of accuracy than resolvers of comparable diameter and are available in a wider range of compact, lighter and easier to use formats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike resolvers, there is no requirement for external resolver signal generation and processing electronics \u2013 all this is included within a Zettlex inductive encoder.
