Recently, employees at our Robotics & Automation site in Cambridge, United Kingdom, stepped away from their day-to-day work to participate in a Team Building Day focused on strengthening these capabilities.
Organized into cross-functional teams, employees tackled a series of hands-on challenges that tested creativity and problem-solving as well as communication. Teams worked together to construct the tallest possible structures, design systems capable of protecting an egg from impact, and solve a variety of interactive puzzles that required strategic thinking and collaboration.
While the activities were designed to be engaging, the lessons were highly relevant to the work teams perform every day.
Complex challenges often require diverse perspectives. The ability to communicate clearly, adapt quickly, and build on each other’s ideas can make the difference between a good solution and a great one. By bringing together employees from different functions and backgrounds, the event created opportunities to strengthen those skills in a practical and memorable way.
