When people think about teamwork, they often picture meetings, projects and collaboration in the workplace.

Sometimes, however, the most meaningful lessons about teamwork happen outside the office.

Recently, three of our employees participated in MudGirl, a three-mile obstacle course in Connecticut featuring 20 challenges that tested endurance, determination and resilience. While the event was designed as a physical challenge, it also highlighted principles that are equally important in business: trust, collaboration and perseverance.

Every obstacle presented a new challenge. Some required strength. Others required problem-solving. Nearly all required support from people around them.

What quickly became clear was that success was not about individual performance. It was about working together.

Throughout the course, the team encouraged one another, shared advice, offered assistance and celebrated progress at every stage. Small victories mattered. So did persistence when obstacles seemed difficult.

Those experiences closely reflect how high-performing teams operate in business environments.

Complex challenges are rarely solved by one person alone. The best outcomes often emerge when people bring different perspectives and leverage their unique strengths, supporting one another through uncertainty. Trust enables teams to move faster. Collaboration helps overcome obstacles. Shared success creates momentum.

The experience also reinforced the value of stepping outside familiar routines. New experiences often create opportunities to strengthen relationships, develop resilience and gain fresh perspectives that can be applied back at work.

We believe innovation and growth are driven by people working together to solve meaningful challenges. Whether developing advanced technologies, supporting customers or participating in a muddy obstacle course, the principles remain remarkably similar.

Strong teams are built through trust. Progress happens through perseverance. Success is achieved together.

Sometimes all it takes is a little mud to remind us of that.
