One of the things I appreciate most about working at our company is that we recognize our employees are supported by loved ones outside the workplace.
That is why Family Day at our Ludwigsstadt, Germany, site means so much to me.
As part of the Ludwigsstadt/Sonneberg Employee Resource Group, Hardy Gaschler, Colin Rausch and I had the privilege of organizing this year’s event. On June 13, we welcomed employees and their families for a day filled with creativity and meaningful connections.
From the beginning, our goal was simple: create an event where families could experience the workplace their loved ones are proud to be part of while giving employees an opportunity to spend time together outside of their daily routines.
Visitors enjoyed a creative market featuring handmade crafts, pottery, books, laser-cut and 3D-printed creations, unique jewelry and a children’s flea market that celebrated sustainability by giving pre-loved items a new home.
The bouncy castle kept our youngest guests entertained, while Shorty’s Food Truck brought everyone together over great food.
For many families, the guided tours were one of the highlights of the day. Seeing where our employees work and learning more about the technologies we develop provided a new appreciation for the innovation happening every day at our Ludwigsstadt site.
What stood out most to me wasn’t any single activity. It was the atmosphere.
Throughout the day, people connected, shared stories, met one another’s families and simply enjoyed being together. Those moments help strengthen our culture because they remind us that behind every innovation is a team of people supported by families and communities.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and especially to everyone who helped make the event possible. Family Day was a wonderful reminder that when we invest in our people and the relationships that matter most to them, we strengthen One Novanta in meaningful ways.
