In Bedford, Massachusetts, employees rolled up their sleeves for a meaningful NovantaCARES volunteer event dedicated to supporting our troops and veterans.
Through NovantaCARES, our company-wide volunteering and giving program, we dedicate time and resources to charities that benefit the communities where our employees live and work. Our goal is clear: help our communities grow and thrive while positioning us as a positive presence in the areas we serve. As part of this commitment, every employee can take up to one paid working day each year to participate in company-sponsored charitable activities like this one.
Guided by our values of collaboration, accountability, and making a meaningful impact, team members volunteered their time to create fleece blankets for troops and veterans. These handmade tokens of warmth and gratitude will be distributed to service members and veterans in need.
The event required no prior sewing experience. Instead, volunteers used a simple cut-and-tie technique to craft soft, durable blankets. The approachable format allowed team members across departments to participate, collaborate, and contribute to a shared purpose. Laughter and conversation filled the room as colleagues worked side by side, transforming fabric into heartfelt gifts.
This initiative supports Soldiers’ Angels, a national nonprofit organization committed to providing aid, comfort, and vital resources to deployed service members, veterans, and their families. With the guiding motto “May No Soldier Go Unloved,” Soldiers’ Angels delivers impactful programs including care packages, food assistance, letters of encouragement, and hands-on volunteer services across the country.
By partnering with organizations like Soldiers’ Angels, NovantaCARES continues its commitment to strengthening the communities where we live and work. The blankets created today represent more than warmth; they symbolize appreciation, gratitude, and unwavering support for those who serve.
We are proud of our Bedford team for embodying the spirit of service and making a meaningful difference, one blanket at a time.
