1972

The worlds first hysteroscopy Insufflator was developed by Peter P. Wiest.



The first model was produced on the kitchen table of his student apartment. This device later allowed expanding the uterus for better vision during surgical treatments.

1996

The world’s first Insufflator with 40 l/min is launched on the market. Until then, the maximum flow rate was only 16 liters per minute.

2000

Launch of the HYS-SURGIMAT®.



Novanta underlines its world-leading position in the field of hysteroscopy for treatments in uterine space by launching a new irrigation Pump with fluid balancing.

2011

Novanta develops a new unique generation of Insufflators for Minimally Invasive Surgery.



The AirSeal® iFS Intelligent Flow System (AirSeal® is a registered trademark of CONMED).

2015

Successful launch of a Multi-indication Pump usable with arthroscopies, hysteroscopies, urologies and laparoscopies.

Successful launch of a 50l insufflator.

2017

New generation of insufflators with smoke evacuation.

2018

Novanta successfully launches autoclavable C-mount Video Couplers.



The Video Couplers transmit the image from the endoscope to the video camera and are designed for multiple autoclave cycles.

2018

Launch of the EVO 4K Medical Video Recorder.

2019

Launch of the VIMA 4K Video Recording & Streaming System, designed as an OR-integration platform.

2024

Providing an insufflator for robotic surgery.
