Environmental sustainability is often discussed in terms of large-scale goals and global challenges. Yet some of the most meaningful progress starts much closer to home.
This World Environment Day, we’re reflecting on the many ways employees across our company came together during Earth Day to make a difference in their local communities.
Across North America and Europe, employees participated in cleanup projects, habitat improvement efforts, waste reduction initiatives, and community volunteer events. While each activity was unique, they shared a common purpose: creating positive environmental impact through action.
In Bedford, Massachusetts, employees and their children collected 100 pounds of litter during a community cleanup event. In Berlin, Germany, volunteers joined a public park restoration effort. Employees in Brno, Czech Republic, collected 25 bags of trash while participating in a national environmental initiative. More than 115 employees in Apex, North Carolina, took part in recycling, cleanup, and planting activities around their site.
Other teams focused on long-term environmental improvements. In Stockport, United Kingdom, employees helped restore local riverbanks while also enhancing biodiversity on site through new plantings and pollinator-friendly habitats. In Sarasota, Florida, employees began testing composting solutions designed to reduce food waste and create valuable compost.
These efforts reinforce an important lesson: Sustainability is not only about major initiatives. It is also about everyday decisions and community involvement, with a willingness to contribute where we can make a difference.
When employees come together around a shared purpose, small actions can create meaningful results.
As we recognize World Environment Day, we are proud of the employees who continue to demonstrate that commitment through action: helping strengthen the communities where we live and work while contributing to a more sustainable future.
