Innovation is not always about creating something entirely new. Sometimes it is about listening carefully and understanding what customers need next, delivering a solution that helps them move forward.
That philosophy guided the development of OmniLite.
As product manager for our frameless motor portfolio, I have spent years working closely with customers developing advanced automation systems. Across industries, we consistently heard a common challenge: Customers wanted the compact performance and reliability associated with our motion solutions, but they also needed a path to scale from early prototypes to high-volume production.
We developed OmniLite to address that need.
The new platform expands access to our motion technology by leveraging automated manufacturing processes that support consistent, scalable production while maintaining the quality and performance customers expect. The result is a frameless motor platform designed for applications ranging from collaborative robots and humanoid robotics to warehouse automation, laboratory automation, and other emerging automation systems.
What makes OmniLite unique is not only the technology itself, but the way we developed it.
Rather than beginning with assumptions, our team started with customer conversations. Through extensive voice-of-customer engagement, prototype development, and ongoing application feedback, we worked alongside customers to understand the tradeoffs that mattered most. Those discussions shaped everything from performance requirements to production strategy.
That customer-first approach helped us create a solution designed to support both today’s needs and tomorrow’s growth.
Scalability is one of the platform’s defining advantages. Customers can begin with small development quantities and confidently scale to significantly larger production volumes while maintaining consistent quality and performance. For manufacturers building the next generation of robotics and automation systems, that flexibility can be a critical differentiator.
The broader impact reaches far beyond the motor itself.
Automation is increasingly helping organizations improve efficiency, increase productivity, and address complex operational challenges. Whether supporting warehouse operations, laboratory workflows, industrial automation, or advanced robotics, motion technology plays a foundational role in enabling those systems to perform effectively.
When engineers can design lighter, more compact, and more scalable systems, the benefits ripple through the entire application. Equipment becomes more efficient and development cycles can move faster. Organizations can scale with greater confidence and ultimately, end users gain access to technologies that help improve productivity and quality.
OmniLite also supports our motion stack strategy by integrating complementary motion technologies, including encoders and servo drives. By bringing these technologies together, we help customers simplify system design while accelerating innovation.
For me, OmniLite represents more than a product launch. It is proof that the best innovations emerge when we listen closely and collaborate across functions, staying focused on customer outcomes.
That is how we create innovation that matters.
