Charlene Knorr, the longest-tenured employee at our site in Bedford, Massachusetts, recently celebrated an extraordinary milestone: 47 years with the company.

As part of a surprise recognition, CEO Matthijs Glastra met with Charlene and learned more about the work she has performed throughout her remarkable career. The unexpected visit gave Charlene an opportunity to reflect on nearly five decades of contributions, and she was thrilled to receive the recognition.

While 47 years is an impressive achievement on its own, conversations with the people who know Charlene best reveal why her impact is measured by far more than tenure.

Kevin Thomas, Production Supervisor, has known Charlene for 39 years. Throughout that time, he has watched her become known as someone who consistently helps others and freely shares knowledge, approaching challenges with professionalism and positivity. Her willingness to support teammates and teach others has made her an invaluable part of the Bedford team for decades.

Alexis Villarroel, Sr. Operations Manager, has worked alongside Charlene for 23 years and describes her as someone whose enthusiasm remains as strong today as it was years ago. She continues to seek out opportunities to contribute and take on new responsibilities whenever the business needs support.

That adaptability has been evident throughout her career. When additional support was needed in quality inspection, Charlene stepped outside her traditional role and embraced the opportunity to learn new processes and skills. Her willingness to continually grow has enabled her to contribute wherever the team needs her most.

Her resilience is equally remarkable. Following a serious medical condition several years ago, Charlene returned to work determined to remain active and continuously learning. That commitment to moving forward has become one of the qualities her coworkers admire most.

Just as important as the work she performs is the impact she has on others. Over the years, Charlene has helped train employees and reinforce quality standards, passing valuable knowledge to the next generation. Her investment in people and her pride in helping others succeed have become defining elements of her legacy.

For nearly five decades, Charlene has demonstrated that lasting impact comes from showing up consistently, embracing change, helping others, and taking pride in your work.

The surprise recognition from our CEO celebrated an extraordinary milestone. More importantly, it celebrated a legacy built through quality, resilience, continuous learning, and an unwavering commitment to others. After 47 years, Charlene continues to prove that the greatest impact often comes from showing up every day and helping those around you succeed.
