Innovation in surgical robotics depends on one thing above all else: precision. 

At the China International Medical Equipment Fair, CMEF 2026, one of the world’s largest medical technology exhibitions, we showcased how precision motion control and force sensing technologies are helping shape the next generation of surgical robotic systems

The event brought together nearly 5,000 companies and hundreds of thousands of professionals from across the global healthcare ecosystem. One theme stood out clearly: The future of surgical robotics will be defined by accuracy, reliability, and integration. 

Our focus is on enabling exactly that. 

We presented a comprehensive portfolio designed specifically for surgical robotic applications. This included high-performance motion control components such as drives, encoders, and motors, built to deliver ultra-precise positioning with fast dynamic response and stable operation under demanding conditions. 

Key innovations showcased included our precision motion control systems:  

  • Denali series miniature drives deliver high-power density in ultra-compact designs, enabling millimeter-precise motion for surgical robot joints. Ideal for confined-space applications, they streamline system integration and reduce weight without compromising performance. 
  • Aura and Optira series encoders provide ultra-high-resolution position feedback, ensuring closed-loop control accuracy in minimally invasive procedures. Their robust design guarantees surgical safety, repeatability, and error-free motion in complex environments. 
  • Agility series cogging-free direct-drive motors offer exceptional torque density and vibration-free operation, optimizing dynamic response for delicate tasks. This enhances precision in laparoscopic and orthopedic surgeries, supporting faster, more stable robotic execution. 

We also highlighted advanced force/torque sensing technologies, including our six-axis solutions that provide real-time feedback during procedures. These capabilities enable more delicate, controlled movements, helping improve surgical accuracy and patient safety. 

Beyond components, we demonstrated integrated systems such as a neurosurgical robotic workstation, showing how sensing and motion technologies work together to support complex procedures. 

Throughout the event, we engaged with OEM partners from around the world. These conversations focused not only on performance, but also on long-term collaboration. Customers are looking for partners who can support system integration, customization, and future innovation. 

That is where we bring value. 

Our technologies typically represent a small portion of the overall system, but they play a critical role in enabling differentiation. From improving clinical outcomes to enhancing system performance, precision at the component level drives meaningful impact at the system level. 

We are also seeing encouraging signs across the market. Discussions at CMEF confirmed steady recovery and renewed growth in surgical robotics, driven by continued technological advancement and increasing global demand.
