As a soccer fan, I am fascinated by the speed, skill and teamwork on the field. I am also reminded that a joint injury can suddenly take a player away from the sport they love. The path back may include arthroscopic surgery, and that is where my passion for soccer connects with my work in medical technology.

Arthroscopy allows surgeons to examine and treat joints through small incisions. To work effectively, they need a clear view and a stable environment inside the joint. Fluid management supports this by regulating the pressure and flow of irrigation fluid during the procedure.

It is a technology many patients may never see or think about, yet it plays an important role in the operating room. Effective fluid management helps the surgical team maintain visualization and manage the conditions within the joint. That requires careful control, because if pressure drops too low, visibility can suffer. If pressure rises too high, it can increase the risk of fluid-related complications. That balance makes precision essential and is one of the key challenges we focus on addressing through our fluid management solutions.

In product management, we translate clinical needs into requirements and bring cross-functional teams together around the performance, usability and reliability of a solution. What inspires me is remembering how those innovations affect people. That person may be a soccer player hoping to play again, a parent wanting to be active with their children or someone simply trying to return to daily life. Every day, patients around the world undergo arthroscopies, and surgeons rely on fluid management systems to create the conditions needed to perform these procedures effectively.

When technology helps support those outcomes, innovation becomes much more than engineering. It becomes an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

We continuously invest in new innovations that will help customers advance their products in the years ahead. By focusing on the needs of customers, surgeons and the patients they treat, we can continue advancing fluid management through innovation, precision and a deep understanding of real clinical needs.

The connection between innovation and the people it ultimately serves, whether they are heading back to the soccer field or simply back to everyday life, is what makes my work so rewarding.
