Integrated stepper motor platforms that combine motor, drive, and control into a single compact solution.

Why integrated stepper motors?
Integrated stepper motors consolidate the motor, rive electronics, encoder and fully programmable motion controller with I/O drive electronics, and motion control into one package, eliminating the need for separate components and complex interconnects. This approach reduces cabinet space, shortens installation time, and improves system reliability — especially in OEM machines with multiple axes.
Two integrated platforms, distinct design approaches
Novanta offers two integrated stepper motor platforms to support different system architectures and design prioritie
Liberty MDrive®
Integrated motion designed for scalable system architectures
Liberty MDrive is optimized for modern, multi-axis machines where efficiency, wiring reduction, and system-level simplicity matter. Built on Hybrid Motion Technology (hMT), Liberty MDrive supports cleaner architectures through daisy-chained communication and centralized power distribution.
MDrive® Plus
Configurable integrated motion with proven flexibility
MDrive Plus provides a highly configurable integrated stepper motor platform supporting both rotary and linear motion. With a broad range of configurations and a long-established install base, MDrive Plus is well suited for OEMs who need flexibility and customization at the axis level.
Need a different motion architecture?
Not every application calls for an integrated solution. Novanta also offers standalone and custom stepper options to support alternative system designs, performance requirements, and integration strategies.
Standalone Stepper Drives
Discrete stepper drives that give flexibility to design control architectures from board-level integration to modular industrial packaging.
Standalone Stepper Motors
Rotary and linear hybrid stepper motors engineered for precision and reliability in custom, drive-agnostic motion systems.
Custom Stepper Products
Application-specific stepper solutions developed in collaboration with Novanta engineers to meet unique requirements.
