Photo Research® SpectraScan® PR-1050
Ultra-Extended Dynamic Range Spectroradiometer. Proven technology when accuracy, flexibility, and speed matters.
The Photo Research® SpectraScan® PR-1050 Spectroradiometer combines decades of engineering expertise and builds upon the industry-leading Photo Research 7 Series. The PR-1050 features the two most critical attributes of any spectral-based photometric and colorimetric light measurement instrument—superior sensitivity and speed. To meet the demands of measuring near-eye displays, the PR-1050 also works with an Augmented & Virtual Reality (AR/VR) lens that attaches directly to the device, allowing the user to measure light from AR/VR target areas.
Designed for applications requiring precise light measurements from a range of light sources, such as display monitors and projectors, reflective surfaces, and industrial applications, the industry-leading 500,000,000:1 dynamic range of the PR-1050 provides the optimal solution for measuring the output of your device. From black to full white, without the need for external attenuation or any changes to the optical geometry.
The unit displays several data and color spectral graphs such as:
- Spectral-based photometric and colorimetric measurements, performing white point calibrations of modern displays and digital projectors.
- Source spectral power distribution.
- Dominant wavelength.
- Correlated color temperature.
Controls are intuitive with a state-of-the-art 2.25” x 3” high-resolution color touch screen LCD display, and a 5-way navigation keypad, plus programmable user profiles for saving setup and preference settings. And in Remote Mode, ASCII-based text commands from your PC or MAC can control the unit, as well as be used to create custom programming for automatic test equipment (ATE) environments. The PR-1050 can be used as a stand-alone instrument or in conjunction with optional SpectraWin software to perform analysis of the data.
Additional features that maintain the highest quality accuracy and control over light measurements include AutoSync for automatically synchronizing to display backlight or source refresh rate for superior accuracy, external trigger port for remote activation, and push-button activation for peripheral devices.
