Precision in the Extreme®
High reliability in the harshest environments
Novanta inductive sensors use non-contact inductive technology. Rather than the bulky transformers of traditional inductive sensors, Novanta inductive sensors use printed circuits. This ensures that our inductive angle sensors are compact, accurate, lightweight and robust with no contacts, making them perfect for inductive position sensing in the most extreme environments. No delicate parts, no maintenance, no hassle – just accurate measurements – all day, everyday.

Simplified Integration and Installation
IncOder inductive encoders are exceptionally easy to install because they require no calibration, eliminating the need for costly high‑precision alignment, specialised tools, or complex mechanical setups. Their generous sensor gap of over 1 mm and highly forgiving installation tolerances make integration straightforward, even in complex mechatronic assemblies. Because the sensing elements are fully contained within a PCB, IncOder devices can be sized and shaped to suit a wide range of applications. Novanta offers extensive standard configuration options as well as full customisation, allowing customers to achieve precise, reliable angle measurement with minimal installation effort and maximum design flexibility.

Customization – ‘Shapable technology’ for exact fit
Novanta’s inductive sensors deliver reliable, non‑contact absolute position measurement in demanding environments, available in rotary, linear, and curvi‑linear formats. Their compact, unpackaged designs integrate easily into OEM systems with minimal mechanical constraints. Lightweight construction, generous installation tolerances, and robust performance make them ideal for modern motion systems. With extensive configuration options and full customisation—including geometry, electronics, outputs, and mounting—Novanta engineers tailor each inductive sensor to precise application needs, enabling optimised performance for your product.

Absolute, High Resolution Digital Output
High‑resolution absolute outputs ensure precise, reliable angle data, and our inductive technology is inherently absolute for safe, repeatable measurement. With broad interface support—including BiSS‑C, SSI, SPI, Async Serial, analog, ABZ and custom outputs—these sensors drop seamlessly into almost any control system. This flexibility lets you connect to PLCs, motion controllers, embedded platforms, and specialised electronics with ease, giving you a versatile feedback solution that adapts effortlessly to your design.

Custom Solutions
Novanta’s optical encoders use PurePrecision™ and VeraPath™ technologies for the most reliable and accurate position readings. This combination allows engineers to achieve metrology-grade performance within an incredibly compact and lightweight footprint. Because the technology is tolerant of wider mechanical gaps and alignment shifts, you can design smaller, lighter motion control systems without the need for bulky, heavy housings or complex calibration routines, significantly reducing your overall time-to-market.
